Chapter IV — Harf °02
Yashmیشم
“the jade”
Nephrite jade tablet — the letter in Gulnar voice, inlaid flush in gold wire
Jade the way the Mughal lapidaries kept it: dark spinach nephrite, ground and polished until it holds light like deep water. The Gulnar letter is inlaid flush in gold wire — parchin kari — every interior line of the bloom followed by hand.
It is made to be held. The stone stays cold; the gold warms first.
